Hello designers! I am the owner and creator of Ranching Tradition Fiber. As a fifth-generation Montana rancher, I raise sheep and have a passion for spinning, processing, dyeing, crocheting, and knitting. I offer three different yarn lines, all made from 100% wool. First, we have our Tobacco Root Valley in DK and Fingering weights. Next is our Range Camp, available in DK, Fingering, and Bulky weights. Lastly, we have the Smith River, which is also in DK weight.
Our yarn is available in multiple yarn shops and on our website.
Types of Patterns
I am looking for patterns that showcase our beautiful homegrown wool yarn. Here are some ideas:
1-2 skein designs: Examples include a hat or cowl using two colors.

About the Yarns
Our Range Camp yarn is made from 100% wool. Here are its specifications:
DK Weight: 11 WPI, 272 yards, approximately 3.5 oz.
Fingering Weight: 14 WPI, 268 yards, approximately 2 oz.
Bulky Weight: 7 WPI, 120 yards, approximately 3.5 oz.
We offer this yarn in seven different colorways and one set.
Compensation, Support, and Rights
Ranching Tradition Fiber will provide the agreed-upon yarn to the designer. The designer will be responsible for all aspects of self-publishing their pattern within the agreed-upon timeframe. Importantly, the designer will retain full rights to their pattern. We will request the use of the designer’s images for promotional purposes.
Designers must agree to list Ranching Tradition Fiber as the yarn used for the design. This includes links on your website pattern pages and other social media platforms. Designers are free to publish and sell their patterns as they wish. Ranching Tradition Fiber will include the designer’s information in all social media posts that feature images of the design.
Timeline
The deadline for pattern publication is May 1, 2026.

We are happy to work with both knit and crochet designers. While we prefer to collaborate with designers based in the United States, we welcome all creative minds.
Let's Create Together!
I am excited to see the unique designs that will emerge from this collaboration. By using our high-quality wool, you can create beautiful pieces that not only highlight your talent but also honor the ranching tradition. Together, we can foster a deeper appreciation for the craft and the land that provides us with these wonderful materials.
If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to reach out. I look forward to your submissions!
